Description
The Medallion stamp was issued in 2006 as part of the “Celebrate The Century” series to celebrate the culture, achievements, and events of the 20th century. The stamp features a medallion quilt, made by the quilt artist Loretta Pettway, who is a member of the Gee’s Bend Quilters Collective. Loretta Pettway, who was born in 1942, is a master quilter who is renowned for her quilting skills, as well as her use of traditional quilting designs and color combinations.
