She wrote numerous acclaimed novels, including “Beloved,” “The Bluest Eye,” and “Sula,” and was a trailblazer for Black writers and women in literature. The stamp recognizes Morrison’s lasting impact on American letters and her transformative contributions to literature, and celebrates her legacy as a visionary and a voice for change. It was issued in 2021 as part of the USPS’s “Literary Arts” series of commemorative stamps.
